In a method for rapid determination of the sedimentation of venous blood, the blood, after the necessary additives have been added, is placed in a sedimentation test tube (6), the tube, at the start of the test, is disposed at an angle deviating from the vertical, and optionally after a period of rest in the passive inclined position, there is imparted to the tube (6) a simultaneous rotating movement about its own axis as well as an uprighting movement about its longitudinal axis.
