Dry printing PVC foam sheeting - by pressing as printed transfer paper on to the still hot sheeting immediately it emerges from its flat sheet extruder die

Unplasticised PVC foam is printed by a dry process in which a provisional substrate, containing an ink which sublimes at 80-180 deg.C, is brought into contact with the foam under heat and pressure. The ink concerned is transferred to the foam sheeting immediately after the foam has been produced and the process utilises the heat of processing. ADVANTAGE - The method exploits the heat generated in the production of the foam.
