New N-aralkyl-allylamine derivs. - useful as antiviral agents

Allylamine derivs. of formula (I) are new, where R1 = a gp. of formula (IIa)-(IIe): R7 and R8 = H, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or CF3; (a) X = NR9, Y = CH or N; (b) X = N, Y = NR9; (c) X = S, Y = N; R9 = lower alkyl; R2-R5 = H or lower alkyl; R6 = alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, haloalkyl, cycloalkyl, trialkylsilyl or cycloalkylalkyl. USE - (I) are antiviral agents, esp. active against influenza A in vivo at daily doses of 50-300 mg/kg.
