PURPOSE:To obtain a sialon stronger than a defect-free material, by heat- treating a sialon at a specific temperature. CONSTITUTION:Sialon is heat-treated at 800-1,100 deg.C in air until >=90% of the surface of the sintered material is covered with a modified layer formed by the heat-treatment. |
