<p>PURPOSE: To make the second harmonic vertical to a substrate by using >=2 kinds of molecules as an amphipathic molecular layer, one of which is an active molecule in a non-linear optical device and the other is an inactive molecule, and mixing properly the molecules with each other. CONSTITUTION: The amphipathic molecular layer contained in the Langmuir- Blodgett film uses >=2 kinds of the amphipathic molecules. The 1st kind of molecule active in the non-linear optical device and the 2nd kind of the molecule non-active or active in the non-linear optical device are used. The 1st kind of the molecule is a molecule expressed by a formula and the 2nd kind of the molecule is a fatty acid series molecule such as behenic acid, stearic acid or the like. And the Langmuir-Blodgett film is formed by mixing the 1st and the 2nd molecules with each other in a proper ratio and the film is transferred to the substrate to form the non-linear optical device. Then, the second harmonic of excitation wave is capable of being sent vertically to the substrate since 2 kinds of the molecules are mixed.</p> |
