Tobacco treatment plant for humidity stabilisation

The treatment plant uses an AC field with a frequency of 27 MHg and a specific power of between 0.7 and 0.9 kWh/kg maintained over a period of between 5 and5 minutes to allow heating to a temp. of between 75 and 95 degrees C'. The tobacco is maintained at the obtained temp. for a period of up to 60 minutes before cooling to a temp. of between 40 and 60 degrees C in a partial vacuum with a residual pressure of between 0.05.10 to power 5 and 0.30.10 to power 5 The HF generator (3) is contained within a tunnel (2) fitted over the conveyor (1) for tobacco balls, which are regrouped before passing throug- through a vacuum chamber (7) with a base provided by a horizontal transport web (12) acted on by a hydraulic cylinder (8).
