PURPOSE: To clean a test element in an off-line state between each cultivation cycle by moving the test element supplied with a body fluid to a cleaning station and cleaning the element, and then, returning the element to a cultivator which is used for cultivating the element by again dropping the body fluid onto the element. CONSTITUTION: A test element E is put on one of vacant carriers 104, 106, and 108 by inserting a reciprocating finger-like section 64 into a low step of a groove formed on the carrier. Then the element E is mounted by locking the element E to a finger-like section 66 and moving the element E toward a cultivator 22. Another test element E is taken out from the cultivator 22 and pulled back to the carrier and stopped immediately below a flow-out nozzle 132. While a cleaning liquid flows out, the another test element E is taken out and put on a carrier by means of the section 66. The cleaned test element E is returned to the cultivator 22 by means of a back-forth moving device 100 and the section 66. |
