PRODUCTION OF L-TRYPTOPHAN

摘要

PURPOSE:To efficiently produce L-tryptophan, by reacting indole with pyruvic acid in the presence of a bacterium or a treated substance thereof while maintaining concentration of indole constant. CONSTITUTION:(B) Indole having <=4mM average indole concentration (even reaction solution immediately after addition) is reacted with (C) pyruvic acid or a salt thereof and ammonia or ammonium ion in the presence of (A) a tryptophanase producing bacteria (e.g. Escherichia coli K-12YK3002) belonging to Escherichia coli without lowering enzymatic activity to efficiently give L- tryptophan useful for drugs and feed additives.
