The present invention concerns a barrier curtain 10,20 for media, placed in a conveyor channel, e.g. in an opening 32 in a loading channel to a furnace, whereby the said barrier curtain separates media located on either side of it, while at the same time allowing objects 48 to pass through. A barrier curtain according to the invention comprises an opening-zone-delimiting device, a device 22, 23 for bringing about a media flow of laminar- layer form and to ensure that the said flow passes over the said opening zone, a receiving device 26 with thin- edged blades 26a, 27b, 27c directly opposite the said flow-forming device,to receive the resultant flow and maintain its laminar form, and devices for feeding the medium to the said medium-flow-forming device. <IMAGE>
