PURPOSE: To allow the use of a connector having an outside diameter in a wide range of insulated conductor wire, and while to avoid the overlap of insulated displacement terminal by providing an opening to a first passage so as to insert a small diameter wire from an outlet passage to a wire terminal position, and providing an opening of a second passage sufficiently close to the terminal position so as to reinforce the wire at the terminal position. CONSTITUTION: A small diameter wire 63 is extended through a passage 58 and crosses a wire terminal position 48 so as to be connected to an insulated displacement terminal 56 of each contact member 14. When a closing member 26 is moved downward to a perfect holding position, a terminal 56 of the contact member 14 is made to enter an inlet passage 52 and cross a wire terminal position 48 before passing to an outlet passage 54. More movement of the terminal 56, which crosses the passage 40, raises an end of a conductor wire 63 inside of the passage 40 till the wire is connected to an upper surface 70 of the passage 40. When the terminal 56 is continuously moved to the outlet passage 54, rigidity of the wire practically exceeds the standard non-control rigidity for increase. |
