PURPOSE:To provide a synthetic polynucleotide fragment enabling the control of manifestation of exogenic gene coding the objective product by galactose using a yeast as a host, by linking to the upstream of a promoter as an upstream activation factor (UAS). CONSTITUTION:A polynucleotide fragment of formula I or formula II synthesized by phosphoric acid diester method, phosphoric acid triester method or phosphite method or a polynucleotide fragment (e.g. the fragment of formula III) bonded with a cohesive end for linking the 5'-site and/or 3'-site of the above fragment with another polynucleotide fragment. One or a plurality of said polynucleotide fragments are linked to the upstream of a promoter (e.g. GAL1, GAL7, PHO5 or PGK) used in a yeast manifestation vector, preferably upstream of a TAT box in said promoter. When the promoter contains UAS in itself, it is preferably used after depleting the UAS. |
