Device for mechanically grating coconuts and tubers, manioc, taro, sweet potato etc. without risk of injury. It is formed of a ring 1 fitted with a screw 2 to fix it to the shaft 3 of a motor. The blades 6 are welded 5 to the face 4 of the ring 1 and to each other. The blades 6 have teeth 8 which by rotating and by contact with the coconut define the grating size. The rounded shape 7 facilitates grating of the concave parts. The leaning faces 9 allow grating in both directions of rotation of the motor (without chattering). <IMAGE>
