PURPOSE:To obtain a continuous casting nozzle having excellent oxidizing resistance and corrosion resistance by making a refractory composition containing the specific wt. parts of refractory raw material containing the specific wt.% of refractory material and carbonic material, respectively, and zirconium carbide and binder, respectively. CONSTITUTION:The material containing 100 wt. parts of the refractory raw material composing of 60-99wt.% the refractory material and 1-40wt.% the carbonic material, and 1-15wt. parts of the zirconium carbide and 10-50wt. parts of the binder is kneaded, to make the refractory composition. As the refractory material, oxide series material of alumina, silica, etc., and non-oxide series material of silicon nitride, etc., are used and as the carbonic material, graphite, coke, etc., is used. As the zirconium carbide, it is desirable to be the material having more than the prescribed purity. As the binder, phenol resin, tar, etc., forming carbon combination by reducing burning is used. The necessary quantities for the materials are kneaded, formed with an isostatic press, dried and burnt under reducing atmosphere at the prescribed temp. By this method, the continuous casting nozzle having excellent durability is obtd. |
