A drafting galette for synthetic fibres is mounted overhung on one side in its machine frame (1). For damping, the shaft (4) is supported relative to the bearing bore (3) by means of a damping element which is a supporting ring (16) supported on the shaft on rubber-like damping bodies (14, 15).
