An apparatus for the continuous production of ice-cream is described which has a freezing container (1) in which there are arranged on a drive shaft (1) a helical conveying worm (2) and, upstream of the latter, a beating and agitating mechanism, the beating and agitating mechanism being driven at a greater speed than the conveying worm, and the freezing container having in the region of one end an inlet aperture (22) for the ice-cream compound. In order to make it possible for the ice-cream mixture to be uniformly mixed in the region of the beating and agitating mechanism and for the mixture to be conveyed reliably onwards into the conveying worm without use of a gear, provision is made for the beating and agitating mechanism to be composed of at least one vane-like worm (5, 6), which is arranged outside the axis of the drive shaft (3) and is connected in a non-rotating manner to a gear wheel (10, 11) which meshes as a planet wheel with a fixed central wheel (12) which is formed in the end face of the freezing container (1), for the vane-like worm (5, 6) to be connected via a supporting arm (7) and/or a supporting element (21) to the drive shaft (3), for each worm (5, 6) to have assigned to it a stripping element (25, 26) which is fastened to the supporting arm (7) and/or the supporting element (21) in such a way that the rotatable worm (5, 6) comes to rest between the inside wall of the freezing container (1) and the stripping element (25, 26) in such a way that between the circumferential surface of the said worm (5, 6) and the inside wall of the freezing container (1) and ...
