<p>PURPOSE:To continuously change cooling intensity for rolls and to control a thermal crown by using a normal temp. roll coolant and lower temp. coolant than that of the roll coolant and for every constant period, by controlling injection duration times of both coolants in the period. CONSTITUTION:A shape signal detected by a shape detector 16 is transduced into an elongation difference ratio e(i) by a circuit 21. In the circuit 22, a roll coolant command alpha(i) is calculated based on the elongation difference ratio e(i). In a circuit 23, the roll coolant injecting duration time i.e. the pulse width is calculated based on the command alpha(i) in a constand period. Then, in a valve on-off instructing device 24, when the roll coolant command alpha(i) is under 100%, the normal temp. coolant is infected. When the alpha(i) exceeds 100%, the cold coolant is injected and further, the normal temp. coolant is injected in the residual time of the period. That is, the ratio of the injection duration times of the coolant and the normal coolant is controlled.</p> |
