PURPOSE:To enable doubled working and to manufacture gears of excellent accuracy by providing gear tooth group at the center in longitudinal direction of flat dies for rolling gears, splines etc. and forming chamfering and escaping gear tooth group symmetrically on both sides. CONSTITUTION:In forming gear tooth of a gear, spline etc. on a workpiece by flat dies arranging working flat dies on both sides of a work piece, a finish tooth group B is provided at the center of tooth surface, and chamfering and escaping tooth group AC are provided symmetrically on both sides. Similar to conventional finish tooth group of flat dies, the finish tooth group B finishes tooth form roughly worked on the peripheral face of the workpiece by chamfering and escaping tooth group AC. The chamfering and escaping tooth group AC works as a chamfering tooth group when feeding direction to the work, and works as an escaping tooth group in the case of reverse direction. Accordingly, the flat dies can perform rolling of the workpiece in going and return, and grears and splines excellent in accuracy can be manufactured. |
