PURPOSE:To perform build-up welding excellent in heat resistant impacting property by building-up Co on the face surface of an engine valve made of Ti or Ti alloy material to prevent the occurrence of a fragile compound layer on a joining part. CONSTITUTION:The valve face 2, especially a part 3 of the engine valve is fitted to a valve seat of an inlet port or an exhaust port of an engine and accordingly, liable to wear and reguires wear resistance and said part is required to be subjected to hard face welding for protection. Then, the Co build-up welding is performed on the face surface of the engine valve made of the Ti or Ti alloy material. As a result, the joining part is prevented from deteriorating. |
