PURPOSE:To facilitate the laser beam machining of a body in small quantity and multiple kinds in a short time without troubles by automatically setting the working conditions of the output, focal position, etc., of a laser light. CONSTITUTION:When a laser light 2 is projected on a body 4 an ultrasonic wave is generated on the body 4 and the amplitude of the ultrasonic wave received by an ultrasonic wave receiver 6 is outputted to an ultrasonic wave amplitude discriminating part 10. An arithmetic control is executed at the discriminating part 10, a driving device 3a is actuated to the part where the amplitude becomes larger and a condensing lens 3 is moved. When the amplitude of the ultrasonic wave 5 shows the max. value with the movement of the lens 3, the lens 3 movement is stopped by transmitting it to the driving device 3a from the discriminating part 10 to keep the gap of the lens 3 with the outer surface 4a of the body 4. An operation start signal is then transmitted from the discriminating part 10 to a laser oscillation output control part 11 and a reinforcing signal is outputted to a laser oscillator 1 from the control part 11 to increase the projecting strength of the laser light 2. |
