PURPOSE:To obtain a proper laser beam output and to enable the surface treatment of good quality by detecting the brightness of the face of the body to be worked caused by a laser beam projection and to automatically adjust the laser output corresponding to this brightness. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam 2 outputted from a laser oscillator 1 is condensed by a work lens 5 and projected on the hardening place of the body 8 to be worked. The hardening is executed with the working part being shielded by jetting an assisting gas 6 from a nozzle 7. A luminous intensity detector 10 detects the luminous intensity of the hardening place of the body 8, i.e., the brightness and sends the signal corresponding to this brightness to a numerical control device 9a. The device 9a having received the signal selects the signal of the preset laser output corresponding to the signal and sends it to the laser oscillator 1, which re-outputs by adjusting in such a laser output as executing a proper surface quality improvement by this signal. |
