<p>PURPOSE:To improve the detected accuracy of a tension by providing a sound wave oscillator on one roll and a sound wave receiver on the other roll of a pair of rolls in contact with a metallic strip, turning them synchronously, measuring the time difference of the sound wave arriving from the sound wave oscillator to the sound receiver to obtain the tension. CONSTITUTION:The rolls 1, 2 are driven by the resistance of the metallic strip and turned synchronously by gears 7, 8. When a hole fitted in a roll oscillator 5 turns till it comes in contact with the metallic strip, the sound wave oscillator 5 generates sound wave and is propagated through the metallic strip. Since the roll 2 rotates in synchronization with the roll 1, the hole 4, too, comes in contact with the metallic strip and receives sound wave by a sound receiver 6 fitted in the hole 4. At this time, a time difference of the sound wave arriving at the sound wave receiver 6 from the sound wave oscillator 5 is measured to obtain a tension distribution. In this manner, the accuracy and quality of the detected tension is improved.</p> |
