<p>A soap based detergent composition contains salts of (C8 to C22) mono-carboxylic acids and water-soluble salts of general formula ROOC(CH2)nCOOM wherein R is a C4 to C12 linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl group, n is 2 to 4, and M is a cation.
