The invention relates to a dust filter having filter bags (4) hanging above a preliminary separation space (2), which filter bags are arranged within a filter housing (1), in which dust filter the dust-containing untreated gas enters into the filter bags (4) from a feed space via an inlet orifice and the clean gas escapes into the clean gas region of the filter. To prevent damage by granules and angular particles, a gas guide device (14) is arranged beneath the inlet orifice of the filter bags (4), which gas guide device imparts a vertical flow direction to the gas stream before and during entry into the filter bags (4). As a result, the abovementioned particles no longer impact the insides of the filter bags (4) with a high abrasive action. <IMAGE>
