In a chain conveyor for underground working, in particular for haulage, which has a stationary outer part and a line of troughs which is accommodated in the latter and comprises conveying troughs which have in each case double-sided guide profiles, such as a bottom plate, assigned to the upper strand and the lower strand, and are placed in the outer part between the side walls of the latter, which form a constructional unit with the bottom plate of the lower strand, the stationary outer part being below ground in trough lengths which are connected to one another at their ends, it is provided according to the invention that, in the conveying troughs, the bottom plate of the upper strand forms, with the associated guide profiles, a constructional unit which is supported on the guide profiles of the lower strand with laterally projecting guide rails, is fixed at the ends of the trough lengths with the adjacent conveying troughs by projecting end edges and is secured at the side walls of the stationary outer part by a plurality of detachable holding-down elements in every trough length of the outer part.
