A blood fractionation system using a completely disposable blood handling set which comprises means (142) for taking whole blood from the donor. Separator means (120) including rotatable membrane means and shear wall means, plasma collection means (132) and means (180, 144) for receiving the blood cells and returning them back to the donor.
