PURPOSE:To keep off any permeation of phosphoric acid for a long period of time when it is used as a sealant for a fuel cell by interposing nonporous thermal fusing fluorocarbon resin layer between sealants. CONSTITUTION:Porous fluorocarbon resin layers 2 are stacked on both sides of a thermal fusing fluorocarbon resin layer 1. Each of these porous fluorocarbon resin layers 2, 2 may be formed with one thick sheet of porous fluorocarbon resin, but usually it is formed by superposing the specified number of thin porous fluorocarbon resin sheets in layers. Normally, thickness of each porous fluorocarbon resin layer is about 20-40mum, its porosity is about 70-85% and each pore diameter is about 0.1-10mum. With this constitution, it is excellent in cushionability, heat resistance, chemical resistance or the like, and gradually permeated into a fine hole owing to use for a long period of time, so that any permeation of phosphoric acid, causing a leak between electrodes, is preventable. |
