摘要 PURPOSE:To exactly execute relative positioning of plural spherical lenses so that the need for optical axis adjustment is eliminated by bringing an optical substrate bored with plural holes into tight contact with the surface of a flat reference plane and embedding the spherical lenses having the optical axes parallel with the reference plane into the holes. CONSTITUTION:The holes 11-13 for positioning ferrules and holes 14-16 for positioning the spherical lenses 24-26 are bored by a dry etching technique to the flat optical substrate 10 consisting of quartz, etc., to allow the passage of light of the wavelengths to be used and this substrate is stuck to the plane reference plate 30 by using an optical adhesive agent. The cylindrical ferrule 21 mounted with an optical fiber 31 is inserted and fixed into the hole 11. The ferrule 22 mounted with an optical fiber 32 and the ferrule 23 mounted with an optical fiber 33 are also inserted and fixed into the holes 12 and 13 respectively. The spherical lenses 24-26 are thereafter fixed respectively into the holes 14-16 by using an adhesive agent such as epoxy resin. The distances between the centers of the lenses 24-26 and the plate 30 are matched at this time and the multiple signal light rays are separated or synthesized in correspondence to the characteristics of a filter member 27.
