In the process, cellulose fibres or synthetic fibres, binding agent, enzyme in the form of a solution or suspension, filler and granulating agent in liquid form are introduced into a granulator, over-sized particles are subjected to a moderate milling, recirculation takes place, and a drying is carried out if necessary. The physical strength of the granulate is improved and the granulate is readily obtained in a narrow particle size distribution.
