GUIDE POST FOR MAGNETIC TAPE

PURPOSE:To run stably a tape and to improve the sound quality and image quality of a VTR, by using a guide post produced by coating the fixing part between a barlike tape sliding part of a stainless steel and a base with an attenuation part of a resin material. CONSTITUTION:A guide post is constituted of a barlike tape sliding part 22 of a stainless steel having 3mm. diameter and an attenuation part 23 covering the outside circumference in the press fitting and fixing part of the base 2. The part 23 consists of a plyamide resin and has a strong viscosity attenuating characteristic. Strain is generated in the part 23 by the bending vibration of the guide post but the vibration damping force acts in the direction of hampering the vibration of the post by the viscosity resistance thereof, thereby suppressing the self-vibration. The self-vibration between the tape and the post is thus suppressed and the external vibration to be transmitted to the tape is averted, whereby the tape is run stably and the sound quality and image quality of a VTR are improved.
