PURPOSE:To obtain a hardened glass fiber mat useful as vibration proof material which is less in fatigue for repetitive loads by placing plural sheets of glass fiber impregnated with unhardened phenol resin in layers and hardening phenol resin through the compression and heating of the layers of green mat. CONSTITUTION:A sheet of green mat of glass fiber impregnated with unhardened phenol resin is prepared so that the solid component of the resin becomes about 5-40wt% of a total of short glass fiber and the solid component, and also a total amount of the short glass fiber and the solid component becomes less than about 3,000g/m<3> and plural sheets of the green mat are placed one over another and unhandened phenol resin is hardened by compressing and heating the sheets of green mat and a hardened mat having a density of over about 150kg/m<3> is prepared. This hardened mat is less in fatigue for repetitive load and useful as vibration proof material. |
