PURPOSE:To facilitate the production and the maintenance of a program and to improve the propriety of the produced program, by applying the automatic control of evolution to a reference area to the term defining information described into a source program when this source program is translated. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with a term defining part 1-1, a term memory part 1-2, a term reading part 1-3, a source program reading part 1-4, an evolution control part 1-5, a syntax structure analyzing part 1-6, an object production part 1-7, an object output part 1-8, and a control part 1-9. Then a deciding means decides a reference area to the term defining information if included in an input source program. The evolution control is carried out by the part 1-5 for a source text of said reference area based on the term defining information stored in both parts 1-1 and 1-2. Thus it is possible to easily produce a program based on a source program with a small number of errors.
