<p>: There are provided compositions for pest control by the disruption of the mating process of such pests, which compositions comprise a pheromone or a pheromone inhibitor in liquid or semi-liquid form, in a polymeric water-resistant matrix which provides UV protection, and which allows an adequate rate of diffusion of the active material over a prolonged period of time (of the order of at least a week), said composition being adapted to be applied to a solid support, which can be a part of a plant, such as leaves or the like. There is also provided a method of pest control in the field based on the application of a plurality of spots of adequate size over a field, each such "spot" containing about 2 to 10 mg of the active substance.</p> |
