The invention is a mounting strip and covering edge piece (2) of a second or third additional window pane (3), which is mounted facing a pre-existing pane (4) in a casement (5) with the help of a spacer (7) extending around the existing pane's (4) edge piece (6) and installed facing this. The strip (1) includes a support face (8) bearing the additional pane's (3) edge (10), which is designed to extend at an essentially right angle to the additional pane (3) and to a distance from the casement (5) that amounts at least to the thickness of the additional pane (3), a spring lip (9) against the additional pane (3), which forms a predetermined angle amounting at most to 90 degrees against the support face (8) and which via a hinge-like joint (11) is fully attached to the support face's (8) free end part (12) as well as a bracket (13) that lays against the casement (5) and fixes the position of the support face (8), the bracket extending from a support face (8) - forming leg (23) preferably at a right angle away from this and out to the casement's (5) outer edge (14), the bracket (13) allowing the strip (1) to be anchored to the casement (5), whereby the spring lip (9) effectuates a constant pressure against and retention of the additional pane (3) at the spacer (7) while at the same time varying additional pane thicknesses can be carried without blocking by the support face (8).<IMAGE> |
