METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING SYNCHROMESH JOINT

PURPOSE:To automate an assembling operation by inserting a ball in a window hole of a ball cage, aligning a ball groove of an inner race with the window hole of ball cage and inserting the assembly in an outer race fixed in a predetermined position. CONSTITUTION:A ball 15 is first inserted in a short window hole 13b of a ball cage 13 to prevent an assembly k of the cage 13 and an inner race 14 from phase deviation during the movement thereof. Next, an outer race 17 is fixed to a predetermined position by a jig 16 to determine the relative position of race 17 to cage 13. Two window holes radially opposed to each other of the cage 13 other than the window hole 13b in which the ball 15 is inserted are inserted respectively on two projections 17b radially opposed to each other among projections 17b between ball grooves 17a of the race 17 to insert smoothly the cage 13 in the race 17. When the assembly k is rotated under such condition, the ball 15 inserted in the window hole 13b fits the ball grooves 17a of race 17 to complete the assembling.
