PURPOSE: To readily produce a textured yarn having good crimp fastness and capable of providing a highly stretchable fabric good in dimensional stability at a low cost by carrying out draw false twist texturing of a highly oriented nylon 6 undrawn yarn and then reheat-treating the resultant yarn. CONSTITUTION: A highly oriented nylon 6 undrawn yarn having 36×10<-3> to 42×10<-3> birefringence ratio is subjected to false twist texturing at a number of false twists to provide 49-56 deg. twist angle at a temperature of a false twisting heater H1 ( deg.C) of 195<=H1 <=170. The resultant yarn in a relaxed state of >=100% overfeeding ratio is then reheat-treated at a temperature H2 ( deg.C) of H1 >=H2 >=D<1/2> +100 preferably with a point contact heater to produce a highly stretchable textured yarn for swimming suits having the stretchability and recovery properties comparable to those of a highly stretchable textured yarn obtained by an Italian method in one process according to a two-heater false twisting method.
