PURPOSE:To enable production of a sound product having an optional shape in a short time, by injecting a slurry of ceramics powder and fibers in to an organic mold, sucking and removing a solvent just after the injection, simultaneously calcining a molded product with the mold and applying a hot isotropic pressure. CONSTITUTION:For example, a mixed raw material of Si3N4 powder with SiC whiskers is dispersed in water and the resultant slurry 1 is then cast into an organic mold 2 using an organic polymer as a binder. The interior of a gas discharge box 5 is then directly sucked through a vent pipe 6 connected to a vacuum pump to discharge the water in the slurry through the porous mold 2 and vent holes 4 of a molding flask 3. The mold 2 is then taken out of the molding flask 3 and calcined in pressurized N2 atmosphere in a sintering furnace to collapse and remove the mold 2 and simultaneously afford a fiber-reinforced ceramics calcined compact, which is subsequently treated and finished in N2 under hot isotropic pressure. |
