The invention relates to a system for automatically adjusting the length of the exhaust pipe for burnt gases on the basis of the number of revolutions of the engine. According to the invention, it comprises a joint with a spherical articulation inserted between an exhaust pipe 1 and an exhaust silencer 2, and a telescopic tube which can extend, and whose stroke is automatically adjusted from the lowest to the highest rotational speeds of the engine so that the exhaust silencer can be placed either to a position which is fully forward 3 or to a position which is fully back 3'.
