PURPOSE:To obtain optical recording media which can be coated, has high reflecting power and sharp contrast with excellent preservability and high solubility to organic solvent by causing a substrate to bear a specific mixture of metal containing indoaniline color. CONSTITUTION:Focusing laser beam is projected to a recording layer consisting of color which is carried on a substrate to cause a partial change on the recording layer thermally for recording. Next, an optical recording medium which regenerates data through reading of a changed part is caused to carry a mixture of metal containing indoaniline color such as shown by a formula I as an optical recording medium. This mixture of metal containing indoaniline color absorbs light in the wavelength band of 600-800nm, and besides has high molecular absorption coefficient of at least 10<5>cm<-1>. Therefore, it has superior applicability to the optical recording medium. |
