摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the pressure variation of a reformed gas by detecting a load of a fuel cell to calculate a load variation rate, and controlling the air-to- fuel ratio in a burner to less than a specified value if the calculated value exceeds the specified value. CONSTITUTION:A load of a fuel cell 1 is detected with a current detector 31 and a load variation rate is calculated with a differential computing element 41. When the flow of a liquid fuel is increased, the flow of reformed gas supplied to the anode of a cell 1 is increased, and the load variation rate exceeds a reference value, the air-to-fuel ratio in the first burner 7 of a fuel reformer 4 is switched to a specified value of 1.0 or less through a comparator 42 and a comparison setting unit 35. Offgas is incompletely burned, and combustion gas containing an unburnt gas is supplied to a carburetor 6 and burned in a catalytic combustor 40 of the second burner together with exhaust air from the cell 1 to increase the heating value of liquid fuel flowing through a vaporizing pipe 6a. As a result, the movement of the evaporation point of liquid raw material is retarded, the pressure variation of gasified gas is decreased, the pressure variation of reformed gas is also decreased, and load follow-up capability is increased.
