The invention relates to a device making it possible to catch predators with a jaw trap without the risk of serious injuries or mutilation. It consists of a spring blade 1 in the form of a split washer acting at one end on the jaws, and a trigger plate 2 with a stop notch 4 kept by a pawl 5. The left jaw 3 ensures immobilisation. The right jaw 6 is fitted with a retention flap 7 articulated onto a spindle 8 and driven by a spring 9. A pawl 10 and its spring 11 block the flap in the bottom trigger position. A ratchet wheel 12 and its pawl 13 ensure a final position of the flap when engaged. A stop 14 limits the travel of the flap. The device according to the invention is in particular intended for trapping predators. <IMAGE>
