The pressurised air blown has a pistol handgrip (2) with a connection (4) for the air supply pipe. The handgrip supports a vortex tube (15) with a vortex chamber (40) at one end. The air flows from a , controlled by a trigger (9), in a connecting passage (14) and then in the vortex chamber, where a vortex is formed in the air flow by tangential vanes. The colder air at the centre of the vortex flows out through a central hole in the end wall of the vortex chamber and then through a cold air nozzle (49). The warmer air in the outer zone of the vortex flows through the vortex to the warm air nozzle (21). Silencers (82, 83) are fitted to both air outlet nozzles.
