PURPOSE:To smoothly operate a medical image control system by arranging magnetic disk devices of large capacity in respective network interface units in respective nodes connected to an LAN. CONSTITUTION:In case of displaying a medical image on an image display terminal 2, a necessary medical image is previously requested to a central file part 1 through a network interface unit (NIU)-B12, an LAN 4 and a NIU-A11 on the basis of a command outputted from the terminal 2. The central file part 1 receiving the request stores the medical image stored in an external storage device temporarily in a magnetic disk device 21 and then transfers the image to a magnetic disk device 22 through the NIU-A11, the LAN 4 and the NIU-B12. When the display of the medical image is requested to the terminal 2 under said state, the medical image previously stored in the magnetic disk device 22 is read out through the NIU-B12 and rapidly displayed on the terminal 2. |
