A control valve (1) for hydraulic media has a valve housing (2) with a pressure connection (P), a consumer connection (A/B) and a tank return connection (T). A valve arrangement consisting of two sectional valves (84, 120) is arranged inside the valve housing (2) in such a way as to be axially displaceable by means of a lever (8) between an initial position and an operating position. In the initial position, the consumer connection (A/B) is connected to the return connection (T) via the opened first sectional valve (84) and the pressure connection (P) is closed via the second sectional valve (120). In the operating position, the consumer connection (A/B) is connected to the pressure connection (P) via the opened second sectional valve (120) and the return connection (T) is closed via the first sectional valve (84). According to the invention, the valve arrangement includes a first, top plunger (10) and a second, bottom plunger (12) which are displaceably guided axially one behind the other in alignment in the valve housing (2) relative to one another and relative to allocated passages corresponding to the connections (P, A/B, T) in such a way that a change-over between the initial position and the operating position is effected with positive overlap. <IMAGE>
