A method for manufacturing shoes and sandals is described, in which an outsole is formed on, embedding the lower shaft edge. The lower shaft edges are perforated and are bent inwards over an edge cant of the last. The last has a depression designed as a footbed. The depression is delimited by an edge cant provided with cutouts.
