DRIVE SYSTEM FOR PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

A drive system for providing sustain, write and erase voltages in an AC plasma gas display panel in which the sustain signals are floated on the write/erase signals to permit integration of the sustain and selection functions. Horizontal (30) and vertical (31) switching arrays are each deposited on a single integrated circuit employing low voltage integrated circuit technology. With this arrangement, and by floating the sustain signal on the write/erase signal voltage, differentials can be established between the horizontal lines (3A) and the vertical lines (40) defining display cells which are sufficient to perform write, erase and sustain operations without exceeding the maximum voltage levels permitted by the circuit technology.
