PURPOSE:To obtain monitor equipment which is easy to handle by measuring the temp. rise arising from X-ray absorption by an oxide superconductive material so that the total quantity of incident X-ray energy is sensed when said quantity exceeds the threshold value. CONSTITUTION:An X-ray absorptive material and the oxide superconductive material which is brought into contact therewith are maintained in the state below the rearrangement temp. by using a cooling mechanism such as liquid nitrogen. The temp. rise proportional to the absorbed X-ray energy is caused by the interaction of the incident X-rays 1 and the X-ray absorptive material 4. The oxide superconductive material 5 has the same temp. as the temp. of the X-ray absorptive material 4 and, therefore, the resistance value thereof changes from 0 to Rmax when such X-ray energy as to raise the temp. of the X-ray absorptive material in excess of the rearrangement temp. is entered and absorbed. The detection of the X-rays exceeding the threshold value is thus enabled. Since the X-ray absorptive material 4 is held immersed in a hot bath below the rearrangement temp., the total quantity of the incident X-ray energy in excess of the threshold value is proportional to the time when the resistance value of the oxide superconductive material 5 exceeds Rmax and, therefore, said quantity is detectable.
