Driving units (9,21) are assigned to the ultrasonic treatment transmitter (3). An imaging ultrasonic transmitter (4) is arranged so that it can move, for transmitting and receiving those imaging ultrasonic waves and a tomographical image of the object under examination can be obtained. A tomographic imaging unit (11,17) drives the imaging ultrasonic transmitter for transmitting waves and producing tomographic images on the basis of ultrasonic echo signals received from the transmitter (4). A positioning unit (14,21) locates the transmitter along a line the central point of the transmitter (4) and the focal point of the ultrasonic treatment waves. An indicating unit (18) displays the tomographical images produced by the tomographic image prodn. unit (11,17) and a detection unit (15) establishes movement values.
