During the surface treatment and deep impregnation of porous surfaces with a surface treatment agent (5) and/or impregnation agent (5) present in liquid form, it is necessary to achieve a certain degree of penetration of the agent (5) in order to obtain a surface which is sufficiently weather-resistant and impact-resistant. A uniform and sufficient penetration depth is obtained with a method according to which a feeding of the coating agent (5) takes place in regulated amounts under pressure and by means of a distribution device (8). The method is preferably used in the surface treatment of rigid mineral wool sheets in a facade insulation attached to the outside of the wall or the like.
