The switch has a box structure (1) in which a pushbutton (22) can slide (222). The button carries a square mounting (2) to which is fixed a matching magnet (21) whose poles are located near its top and bottom edges. A corresponding mounting (3), hinged transversely (33) in the box carries a similar magnet (31) with poles aligned in the same way. Mutual attraction causes the button/mounted magnet to take up upper position, the button protruding from the box and the hinged mounting remaining vertical. When the button is pressed, against field resistance, the hinged mounting displaces suddenly as the latter is overcome, striking the box side (100) with an audible click. An element (35) at its base moves in relation to either a magnetic (40a) or capacitive (40b) sensor beneath, activating a solid-state switch to break a circuit, the system resetting on release of the button. ADVANTAGE - Quick-action switch operation using magnetic respulsion offers associated advantage of contactless circuitry without unreliability of spring-controlled mechanisms.
