PURPOSE:To improve the putrefaction resistance, deterioration resistance, and durability of a water-soluble cutting oil, which comprises a primary alkanolamine, a mono-, di- or tribasic, or hydroxycarboxylic acid, and a particular diamine. CONSTITUTION:The title oil comprising, an indispensable components, 0.05-4% (wt.% as determined in the form of a coolant; the same shall apply hereinafter) 2-4C primary alkanolamine (A), 0.05-4% 6-24C mono-, di- or tribasic, or hydroxycarboxylic acid (B) (e.g., caprylic acid, dodecanedioic acid, or recinoleic acid), and 0.01-1% diamine (C) of the formula [wherein R1 is H or R2; R2 is 1-24C alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, (alkyl)aryl, or aralkyl] and, as optional components (D), amines such as triethanolamine, mineral oils, extreme-pressure additives, and surfactants. The title oil is diluted with water by a factor of 10-100 for use as a coolant. |
